Nylon

(Zytel®, PA, Type 6 cast, Type 6/6 extruded, Tecamid®, Vekton®, polyamide)

Standard Grades:
Nylon Type 6/6 extruded sheet standard: .030” to .25” thick
Nylon 6/6 extruded rod standard: 3/16” diameter
to 2 3/4” diameter
Nylon type 6 cast sheet standard: .375” to 6” thick plates
Nylon type 6 cast rod standard: 3” to 20” diameter

Standard Colors:
Natural (light yellow), black

Key Features:
Excellent mechanical properties, high strength and high toughness, excellent bearing properties, low friction and outstanding wear properties, light weight.

Applications:
Gears, wear strips, bushings, rollers, pulleys, thrust washers, valves, nuts, bolts.

Fabricating:
Machines and cuts well, stamping.

Specifications Met:
Flammability of Nylon 6/6 meets UL94-HB, Natural resin meets FDA, NSF, USDA, and Dairy 3A, Nylon 6/6 resin specification ASTM D-4066 PA0114, stock shape ASTM D-5989-05 S-PA0111, Nylon 6 meets ASTM D-5989 S-PA0211 (old Federal standard LP-410A).

Special Grades:
Nylon MD –(Molybdenum di-sulfide lubricant MoS2), lowers surface friction and increases surface hardness, strength and stiffness.
Nylon Oil filled – oil filled grade lowers surface friction and hardness, increases impact resistance
Nylon 6/6 GF30 – 30 % glass filled has higher strength, stiffness and temperature resistance.
Nylon 6 GF30 – 30 % glass filled nylon 6 improved resistance to abrasion, greater compression and flex strength. Nylon 6 glass filled also available in 10 % , 20 % , and 40 % glass filled.
Hydlar Z – Aramid fiber (Kevlar R) filled Nylon: Kevlar fibers provide increased strength and temperature resistance and substantially improved wear resistance. No galling of mating wear surfaces.
